Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Edit Quick Settings in the Camera App in Android 4.4 Kitkat

Camera app is one of the stock apps owned by the Samsung Galaxy SIV that you can use to take pictures or record videos. This app has been equipped with a set of useful features that will allow you to get the best result, for instance: various shooting modes and photo effects, flash, auto night detection, etc.

While you're in the Camera app and then tap to see more options, you'll see 6 most frequently used shortcuts, by default they are: Settings, Flash, Auto night detection, Voice control, Recording mode and Share. The best part of this is that there are three shortcuts that are customizable. You can remove, add, replace and rearrange those three shortcuts according to your need.



How to edit quick settings in the Camera app?
You can customize those three customizable shortcuts(except the Settings, Recording mode, and Share) in the more options by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Tap the Menu key and then select Edit quick settings.
  3. The customizable shortcuts will be highlighted and framed with the white square while others will be grayed out. Here you can also see the available shortcuts in the quick settings panel, by default they are: Guidelines, Location tag, Volume key, Review pic/video, Metering modes, Timer, ISO, White balance, Anti shake, Exposure value and Video stabilisation.
  4. To remove the existing shortcuts go to the step #5, to add a new shortcut go to the step #6 to replace the existing shortcuts with the new one go to the step #7, while to rearrange shortcuts go to the step #8.
  5. Removing shortcuts:
    If you want to remove a shortcut from the more options without replacing it with the new one, then you can do so by following the steps below:
    • Tap and hold a customizable shortcut in the more options and then drag it to the quick settings panel.
    • The selected shortcut will be removed from the more options.
  6. Adding new shortcuts:
    If you've had removing a shortcut from the more options then it'll be a blank spot which you can use to add a new shortcut. You can do so by following the steps below:
    • Tap and hold the desired shortcut in the quick settings panel you want to add and then drag it to the available spot in the more options. Release to placed it.
    • The selected shortcut will be added.
  7. Replacing shortcuts:
    You can replace the existing shortcut in the more options with the new one by tapping and holding the desired shortcut in the quick settings panel and then drag it to the one of customizable shortcuts in the more options. Release to exchange them.
  8. Rearranging shortcuts:
    You can rearrange a shortcut position by tapping and holding the desired shortcut and then drag it to the new position.
  9. Tap Reset button in the quick settings panel to revert the shortcuts in the quick settings panel and camera's more option back to default.

To get the maximum advantage of this feature, it'll be better if you use this feature to display your most frequently used shortcuts in the more options in the Camera app so that you can easier and faster to access them.
