Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Set Contacts as Favourites in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

I do believe that from the entire of your contacts list in your Samsung Galaxy S5, you have some favourite contacts that you tend to communicate with frequently, those you call over and over again. Instead of have to find them through the entire of your contacts list or the call histories which is can be time consuming, it will be easier for you to find them by adding those contacts to your favourites list so that you can place them in a single list and separate them from the entire of your contacts list.

How to add a contact to the favourites list?
You can add the required contact to your favourites list by using three different methods: from the favourite contacts list, from the contacts list and from the Starred in Android contacts group.

Method #1: From the favourite contacts list
You can set contacts as favourites from the favourites contacts list by using the following steps:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Favourites tab.
  3. Tap to add contacts to your favourites list.
  4. Select the required contacts.
  5. Tap Done button.
  6. The selected contact have been added to the favourite contacts list.

Method #2 : From the contacts list
You can set a contact as favourite while viewing the contact's detail information by using the following steps:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab. All of your contacts will be displayed here.
  3. Tap the required contact.
  4. Tap at the top of the screen to set the contact as favourite. The icon will turn yellow as a sign that the contact has been set as favourite and added to the favourite contacts list.

Method #3: From the "Starred in Android" contacts group
FYI, Samsung Galaxy S5 has some default contacts groups, one of which is the Starred in Android contacts group. Adding contacts to this contacts group will automatically add them to the favourites list as well. See the following steps to do so:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab.
  3. Tap to go to the contacts groups list.
  4. Tap Starred in Android.
  5. Tap to add contacts to the selected contacts group.
  6. Select the required contacts.
  7. Tap Done button.
  8. The selected contacts have been added to the Starred in Android contacts group as well as to the favourite contacts list.
