Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Change the Edge Screen Position in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

By default, your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge uses its right edge screen to let you use some features that work by utilizing the edge screen, e.g: people edge, apps edge, night clock, etc. However, since this phone has dual edge screens, you can select which side you want to use, the left side or the right side.

How to change the edge screen position?
You can do so by using two different methods: from the settings menu and from the edge screen settings.

Method #1: From the settings menu
You can change the edge screen position via the settings menu by using the following steps:
  1. When the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to the Device section and then tap Edge screen.
  3. Scroll down the screen to the Additional settings section and then tap Edge screen position.
  4. Tap Edge screen side.
  5. Here you'll be provided with two options:
    • Right side: select this option to have your phone activates the right edge screen. FYI, this option is enabled by default.
    • Left side: select this option to have your phone activates the left edge screen.

Method #2: From the edge screen settings
You can change the edge screen position via the edge screen settings by using the following steps:
  1. To open the edge screen, drag the edge screen handle towards the centre the screen. By default, the handle is displayed in all screens and located on the right edge screen.
  2. Tap to go to the edge screen menu.

As a note, when you change the edge screen position, it'll also change the way you access the edge screen. As the example, if you have activated the left edge screen, the handle will be displayed in the left side too, so you have to drag the handle from the left edge screen towards the centre of the screen if you'd like to open the edge screen.
