Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Change Ringtone in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge comes with various pre-loaded ringtones, so you can easily change your ringtone if you're bored with the current one. You can assign the same ringtone for all incoming calls or even set different ringtone for your important or favorite contacts so you can easily know when they call you.


How to change ringtone?
You can do so by using some methods. As the example, we'll change ringtone by using two different methods: from the settings menu and from the Contacts app.

Method #1: From the settings menu
You can use this method to change ringtone for incoming calls from all contacts except those you have assigned to the different ringtone. Use the following steps to change the default ringtone from the settings menu:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Device section and then tap Sounds and notifications.
  3. Tap Ringtones and sounds.
  4. Tap Ringtone.
  5. Tap the required tone you want to use as your default ringtone. Your phone will play the selected tone to give you a preview how it might sound when selected.
  6. Tap the Back key to return to the previous menu.
  7. The selected tone has been set as the default ringtone.

Method #2: From the Contacts app
You can use this method to assign different ringtone for a specific contact. Use the following steps to change ringtone for a specific from the Contacts app:
  1. Open Contacts app.
  2. Tap the required contact you want to change its ringtone.
  3. Tap Edit to edit the selected contact.
  4. Tap Ringtone.
  5. Tap the required tone you want to use as ringtone for the selected contact. Your phone will play the selected tone to give you a preview how it might sound when selected.
  6. Tap the Back key.
  7. Tap Save button to save the changes.
  8. The selected tone has been set as ringtone for the selected contact.
