Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable and Use Direct Call in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Direct call is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that works by utilizing the proximity/light sensor. When you bring your phone near to you and the sensor is covered with an object(in this case, your ear), your phone will automatically call a contact whose call log, message or contact details is currently displayed on the screen without you have to touch the call icon.

How to enable the direct call feature?
You can turn this feature on by using the following steps:
  1. While the screen is unlocked, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Device section and then tap Motions and gestures.
  3. Slide the ON/OFF switch next to Direct call to the right to enable it. The switch turns green as a sign that the direct call feature is enabled.
